About
This course prepares academic faculty, instructional designers, and educational leaders to teach and assess AI fluency within their own courses and institutions. Built around the 4D AI Fluency Framework, it covers multiple approaches to scaffolding student learning, designing authentic assessments, and analyzing AI’s impact on disciplinary content and pedagogy. By the end, you can select a teaching approach suited to your context, build coherent AI-integrated assignments, and help colleagues apply the framework across disciplines.
The course was developed through a partnership between Anthropic and professors Rick Dakan (Ringling College of Art and Design) and Joseph Feller (University College Cork), drawing on their direct experience training educators and teaching the framework to students. It was supported in part by Ireland’s Higher Education Authority through the National Forum for the Enhancement of Teaching and Learning. Examples use Claude.ai, though any AI chat tool works for the hands-on practice components.
