This course teaches pK–12 educators and school staff how to work with AI using the 4D Framework: Delegation, Description, Discernment, and Diligence. You learn how to apply each dimension to real classroom and administrative tasks, from creating differentiated materials to handling student data responsibly. By the end, you can run a complete 4D workflow on a task from your own practice and articulate personal ethical commitments around AI use.
The course was built through a partnership between Anthropic and Teach For America, drawing on Teach For America’s work with educators since 2022 and Anthropic’s research on responsible AI adoption. It adapts Anthropic’s broader AI Fluency framework specifically for the constraints educators face: limited resources, multiple stakeholder accountability, and mission-driven work.
