What is Riverside?
Riverside is a browser-based podcast studio that covers the full content production workflow — recording, editing, repurposing, and publishing — in a single platform. It outputs up to 4K video and uncompressed 48kHz WAV audio, and it’s used for podcasts, video interviews, webinars, and marketing video content. It’s not a general-purpose video editor or a podcast recording software that stops at the raw file — it carries sessions through to distribution. Motion graphics, color grading, and complex multi-layer visual effects are outside its scope.

Real-World Applications
Remote podcast interviews involve coordinating guests across different locations, often over inconsistent internet connections. As podcast recording software, Riverside captures each participant’s audio and video locally on their device, so the final file quality doesn’t depend on the call quality. The separate tracks give editors individual control over each speaker’s audio — adjusting levels, removing crosstalk, or isolating a single voice without touching the others.
Marketing teams producing video content at volume can use the podcast studio’s text-based workflow to cut down post-production time. Editing by transcript means cutting a 45-minute interview into a tight 12-minute piece takes as long as it takes to read and delete lines. AI Show Notes handles the metadata work — titles, descriptions, chapters, and takeaways — so the same session also produces the content needed to publish and distribute it.
Live webinars that need to generate content after the fact fit naturally into the platform’s workflow. A 60-minute webinar records in HD, and Magic Clips identifies the sharpest moments for social distribution automatically. The AI Co-Creator then produces channel-specific assets — vertical clips for Instagram, captioned versions for LinkedIn — without a separate editing pass.
Teams evaluating podcast recording software for internal communications or learning and development work can use studio branding and reusable intros and outros to keep every video consistent. The async recording feature lets subject matter experts record their segments on their own schedule, which then get assembled and published inside the same podcast studio where they were captured.
